SUMMARY: Silence often comes from the subscription system: to exchange freely, YOU AND THE PROVIDER must both be subscribed. If either is free, you remain limited to pre-set messages. Other reasons: they found a contract, or your message arrived too late.
The 4 main reasons #
Reason 1 – The provider has a free account: They can only send 60 pre-set messages per month and cannot write personalized messages or share their contact information. Even if you’re subscribed, you both remain limited.
Reason 2 – To exchange freely, both must be subscribed: It’s like a lock with two keys. One key (one subscription) isn’t enough. Without both, the conversation stays blocked.
Reason 3 – The provider already found a contract: If the request is 3-5+ days old, they’ve probably received 10-20 applications, met 2-3 families, and made their choice. This is marketplace reality.
Reason 4 – Your message arrived too late: Providers review the first 5-10 applications as priority. Responding 2-3 days later = very low chances.
Speed factor is crucial: #
- ⚡ Within the hour: excellent chances
- ✅ Within 6 hours: good chances
- ⚠️ Within 24 hours: average chances
- ❌ After 48 hours: low chances
What to do based on your situation #
If you’re free account: Check if the provider is subscribed (“Subscribed Profile” badge). If yes, subscribe to exchange freely. If no, even if you subscribe, you remain limited. Your subscription isn’t enough if the provider is free.
If you’re subscribed: Always check the provider’s badge. Prioritize “Subscribed Profile” for smooth exchanges. If the provider is free, you can contact with a pre-set message, but focus your energy on subscribed providers. Follow up after 48-72h maximum with a brief message. Optimize your request with a clear title, detailed description, and realistic budget.
Realistic statistics #
Average response rates: 2-10 providers contacted yield 3-5 responses, or 20-40%. This is normal.
Why? Competition with 2-5 other families, limited free providers, providers who already found work, timing of your message, and quality of your request.
Don’t get discouraged. It’s a numbers game. Each “no” brings you closer to your next “yes.” Your perfect match is waiting.
