SUMMARY: Maximum 1 refund per account per 12-month period to prevent abuse. Since Margot offers a free functional version (search, posting, preset messages/month), some could subscribe, exchange contact information quickly, and then request a refund.
Why This Limit for asking a Refund ? #
The risk of abuse exists: The free version allows complete testing of the platform. A user could subscribe, exchange contact information in 24h, request a refund, and repeat every month with new accounts. This behaviour would make the platform unsustainable.
The strict rule:
- 📋 Maximum 1 refund per account per 12-month period
- 📋 No exceptions
Refund deadlines #
Families: up to 14 days after subscription. Why 14 days? Sufficient time to fully test, post requests, and contact multiple providers.
Providers: up to 30 days after subscription. Why 30 days? Providers need more time to receive requests, meet families, and evaluate the platform.
How to Request a Refund ? #
Go to “My Subscription” then “Request Refund.” Fill out the form with mandatory reasons. Our team processes your request in 5-7 business days. A refund is issued via the same payment method.
Valid reasons #
Accepted refunds:
- ✅ No available providers in your area
- ✅ All providers in your region have free accounts
- ✅ Major technical issues unresolved despite contacting support
- ✅ The service doesn’t match what was announced in our communications
Invalid reasons #
Refused refunds (blatant abuse):
- ❌ “I found someone quickly” – That’s exactly the platform’s purpose!
- ❌ “I exchanged contact information and no longer need the platform”
- ❌ “I just wanted to test it”
- ❌ “I found elsewhere” after obtaining contact information on Margot
Consequences of detected abuse #
Automatic detection: Contact information exchange followed by immediate refunds, multiple accounts created with repeated refunds, and refunds followed by re-subscription the following month. Any misuse of the Margot platform will result in a ban for life.
Alternatives to Refund #
Before requesting a refund: simply cancel your subscription and keep access until expiry. Contact support to get free help and optimize your profile or request. Use what you paid for before giving up.
